About Lewis County Transit Authority Board
Lewis County Transit is the public transportation provider for the cities of Centralia and Chehalis in Washington State. As a governmental public transit authority, we offer four fixed routes throughout the community with hourly bus service to many neighborhoods in Lewis County, shopping centers, and governmental and medical offices. Each year, nearly 350,000 rides are taken on buses operated by Twin Transit.
Lewis County Transit is a recognized Public Transportation Benefit Area (PTBA); a special taxing district authorized under RCW 36.57A. Lewis County Transit is the business name for the Lewis Public Transportation Benefit Area (LPTBA) and is governed by a three-member board. In addition to passenger fare and state and federal grant assistance, the LPTBA collects a .2% local transit sales tax as its primary funding source for transit service. The LPTBA is not a county-wide taxing district, rather the taxing boundaries are limited to the incorporated city limits of both Centralia and Chehalis. Current Board members are:
Mark Westley
Centralia City Council
Board Chair
Scott Brummer
Lewis County Commissioner
Vice Chair
